What’s the one small thing you could do right now that would have a huge impact on your database and your business? I’ve been sharing my “Ultimate Real Estate Success Blueprint” for years, and this morning I was reminded again why one simple habit has made such a difference for me.

The power of personal connection. I was talking to a former coaching client on his birthday. Like every year, I reached out with a quick birthday video message — I track all my clients, agents, and coaching members’ birthdays in my calendar, so sending a video text or email is easy.

When I checked his Facebook page, he had 500 likes, 309 comments, and even individual posts, yet only two people sent him a video: me and a close friend. Out of hundreds of interactions, just two videos stood out.

Why video messages work. Whenever I send out video responses to leads or clients through text or email, the response is always greater. People appreciate it because I actually took the time to record and send something. It’s different from a written text. They see my tonality, my face, and my gestures. It feels warmer and more personal, and that makes an impact.

Using video beyond birthdays. You don’t have to limit this to birthdays. You can send a video for anniversaries, shout-outs, and even to answer emails. If someone sends you a long text or email with a question, send a quick video reply. It’s easier for you and more meaningful for them. This also works with prospecting leads such as Zillow, Realtor.com, or any other leads you get.

Doing this can have a huge effect not only on your friends and family but also on your center of influence and your leads. A simple video can turn a cold contact into a warmer one. It differentiates you, shows you care, and helps build relationships that last.

But you don’t have to wait for birthdays. Start by adding important dates to your calendar, and commit to sending short video texts or emails to your clients, prospects, and people in your circle. Even one or two a day can make a noticeable difference.
