Have you ever noticed how the last few months of the year can either launch you forward or completely slow you down? That’s exactly why I’ve been talking so much about mindset, confidence, and what I call “separation season.” As we head into the end of the year, this is where momentum gets built, setting us up to close 2025 strong and enter 2026 with real force.
Since our business runs on a 60 to 90-day cycle, the effort we put in during October, November, and December is exactly what shows up in Q1 for better or worse.
Here are a few things I’m keeping front and center as we move through this season.
Standards vs. goals. I always remind myself that goals are just the things I want, but standards are what I’m actually willing to do. Wanting to sell more homes or grow a business doesn’t mean much unless I’ve committed to the daily actions behind it. Whether it’s reaching out to five people a day or reconnecting with clients I haven’t spoken to in years, those standards are what produce results. Every time I raise my standards, my outcomes rise with them.
Learning from leaders. One thing that’s made a huge difference for me is learning from people who are already operating at a higher level. Success really does leave clues. The habits, the routines, and the mindset are things you can model. What’s funny is that so many agents assume these leaders are too busy to talk, when in reality, they’re usually happy to share.
Some of the best advice I’ve ever received came from simply asking, “Knowing what you know now, what would you do if you were in my position?” The insights you get from that are priceless.
Staying consistent. If there’s one thing I’ve seen beat everything else, it’s consistency. You can have the perfect mindset, the perfect affirmations, or even more talent than the next person, but without consistency, it doesn’t matter.
Consistency always wins – it’s the small actions done every single day that stack up. Five calls a day might not feel huge, but when you look at it over a week, a month, or a year, that’s where the real growth happens.
Eliminating limiting beliefs. The biggest killer of progress is the story running in your head. I hear agents say things like, “I’m not good at listings,” or “No one buys in December,” or “My market is different.” Those limiting beliefs act like anchors, and replacing them with stronger beliefs is a game-changer heading into the new year.
Taking massive action. Even with the right mindset and the right standards, none of it matters without massive action. Imperfect action always beats perfect inaction. For instance, I’d rather put out an average video than none. The more I do something, the better I get, and that’s been true for every top agent I know. Consistent, massive action is what fuels a strong start to 2026.
This time of year is when separation truly happens. When others slow down, top producers speed up.
